A Rainy Day At The Farmhouse

We  needed the rain, so thankful it came this way.

Rainy days are great for baking!

Little  La La (nickname)  is making her very first pumpkin roll.

She is doing a great job!
After baking it for 15 minutes, its time to roll it up, and let it cool.

What a great job she did, for her very first try at making a pumpkin roll.

A Picnic Within The Greenhouse

Setting the table oh, how fun!

The table is spread with a tasty little lunch.

My guests have arrived, and they are very excited about it.

At Home

Most of us may not have a beautiful room with a view of the ocean. Although that would be so nice,
but we can create our Master Bedroom to be an oasis to enjoy.

Simple ideas to make changes:
Minimize all clutter and simplify your room.
Lighten up the wall paint colors
Lighten up your comforter with bright pillows.
Freshen up your dark furniture,
consider giving it a fresh coat of paint.
Add some flowers.
Add some white curtains.

Keeping it Fresh:
Keep the sheets fresh and clean every week.
Keep it tidy and cleaned daily.
Play soft music (or maybe the ocean sounds)
Keep your windows clean.
Give your master bath a new fresh look as well.
Make it a place that feels like a little getaway.

Things that may need to be moved out :
The computer/ t.v.
Clean out all the clutter and donate it.
Remove all clutter from the closets let the freshen
and simplicity flow in there as well.

Harmony:
Never bring your problems to bed, they will keep until morning.
Things always look brighter in the morning after a good night rest.
Keep this room an haven of rest.

Are there any plans to freshen up your master bedroom this spring?

Creating a Bright and Happy Home

There is just something about January that makes me want to clean out clutter; do a little deep cleaning, and brighten up my home.

I love making my home happy and bright.

By simply adding fresh flowers to each room.

By hanging a boxwood wreath over our dresser, adds a little greenery.

By painting a wood cabinet pebble gray.

Adding a new comforter ....

I would love to hear if you are making fresh new changes in your home.

A walk in the woods

On this winter day of cold and gray, the girls and I slipped on our boots, gloves , scarves and jackets.  We walked towards the woods with a basket in our hands a pair of snips.  Not sure if we can find enough greenery to make a very large wreath, we continue walking down paths of golden weeds.

Upon entering into the woods, we pulled branches of wild blackberries off our clothes that wanted to go with us.  Climbing over trees that have fallen across the paths, we soon found ourselves hopping from rock to rock surrounded by the slow rush of the creek.  We find our way through this little patch of woods that sits at the end of our land.

Shorty upon entering into the woods, suddenly, we heard birds flew away as we continue to walk with the sounds of dried leaves crunching beneath our feet.

With each path we took, we found several different kinds of cedar trees.  Filling our baskets with snips from each tree, we spotted some wild red berries near by.  The basket soon was over run with berries, cedar, cypress, and Douglas firs.

In the warmth of the kitchen we separated the greenery into piles across the old farmhouse table, and began to assemble our wreath. What a wonderful time we had stomping through the woods together while making sweet memories and creating a wreath from God's nature.

Thank you, for coming along with us for a walk in the woods.
