The Lost Art of Writing Letters

Dear Friends,

In my childhood days, I remembered, my mom and I would
walked down our one mile long gravel driveway to
check for mail. It was the highlight of the day, to open the metal door
and see if there was a letter or an birthday card.

My mother had beautiful handwriting, in her school days
penmanship was one of the most important subject to learn
and it was to be mastered as an art form.

Beatrix Potter is a favorite mine.

Sometimes in a antique store you may find some vintage letters,
the ones that are all bundled up with a ribbon or a string tied
around them. These old letters are American history, a time of
war or of days gone by. These letters were beautifully written
and even though we may not know the people who wrote
them, by the end the last letter, we feel like we know them
quite well.

I heard that writing to a pen pals is making a come back, that is wonderful!

If you find the time, write someone who is dear to you,
it will bring a smile to their face, as they reach into
the mailbox to find a lovely letter hand written by you.

P.S. If you haven't seen the movie of Miss Potter,
I highly recommend it! It is basic on her life.

Seeking Out The Old Paths

Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths,
where is the good ways, walk therein, and ye shall find
rest for you souls. Jeremiah 6:16

I don't know about you friend,
I find that in these uncertain times,
I want to seek out these old paths.
When the days were long and life
was oh, so simple.

Remember these childhood days!

Trust in the Lord, and He will direct your paths

Walk in the old paths and you will find rest for your soul, and quieten your lives from this world.

I know whom I put my trust in, I put my trust in the Lord
Who created the heavens and the earth.

Walk in the old paths..rest in the Lord!

What a better place the world would be!

Life in a old Farmhouse

Hello dears,  here is a small escape for you, it maybe for just a moment~ however, let your cares melt away!  My hopes and prayers is that each one of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.  There is so much to be grateful for, and in my heart I am so very grateful for so many blessings.

"Winter is the time for comfort,
for good food and warmth,
for the touch of a friendly hand and
for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home."

- Edith Sitwell

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart;

and lean not unto thine own understanding.

May your days and hearts be filled with love, joy, peace and hope!

Psalms 62:8 - Trust in him at all times;
ye people, pour out your heart before him:
God is a refuge for us.
