  1. I have been becoming more minimalist since July. I pared down a lot. I have never been a super abundant person but stuff does find a way to creep in. I have a serious weakness for throw pillows. Your touches are so charming and cozy. One thing I did this year was cut back on my Fall decor. I usually go all out. Kind of a smaller version of Christmas. But this year to keep the minimalist idea going I only decorated simply and very minimally. I used my favorite items and that was it. The rest is still in the attic. I am thinking of getting rid of it. :0

  2. I too have gotten rid of years of fall decor and kept only a few pieces. I also went through dishes a few months back. Pillow covers are the best. Love you house and I love the windows idea except washing them.....

  4. Hello there, I have just found your lovely blog. What lovely posts you write. I am looking forward to going back to the beginning and slowly working through it. We live on the other side of the world to you. Here on the south eastern coast of New South Wales, Australia we have just come into spring. My garden is coming alive again after a fairly dry winter. Our climate is a little different to yours as we do not get snow here in winter and our summers are mostly warm with just a few really hot spells. Letting go of our excess is something I am working towards as we are selling our rather large home and downsizing now we are retired. Living simply is the way I choose to live, although we tend to often clutter our lives with too much activity. I have found your blog very restful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on life. I especially like your Bible references.
    Blessings Gail.

    1. Gail, What a delight to have you here. Australia what a beautiful country. Spring is a wonderful time of the year where all things are new again. We are heading into fall here and soon to follow winter. In our area we normally will not see a lot of snow until January and February. There have been times when we do not see any large snow amounts.
Thank you so much for your kind words, I am so glad you found me and I look forward to getting to know you as well.

  7. I have been making slipcovers for my throw pillows, and then I don't have so much to store, I just change the covers with the seasons. I agree with simplifying my decorating. It makes it easier to clean each week and that means more time for the things we love. By the way, I love your plaid blanket.
    Have a sweet weekend.
    Connie :)
